}} James Donald Meindl (born April 20, 1933) is director of the Joseph M. Pettit Microelectronics Research Center and the Marcus Nanotechnology Research Center and Pettit Chair Professor of Microelectronics at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. He won the 2006 IEEE Medal of Honor "for pioneering contributions to microelectronics, including low power, biomedical, physical limits and on-chip interconnect networks.”〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=IEEE-Level Awards )〕 ==Education== He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1955, 1956 and 1958 respectively.
